About me
Founder of Belmont Bespoke
I’m Michael Hughes, a lifelong carpenter and the founder of Belmont Bespoke. My journey began in France in 2004, where I completed a traditional carpentry apprenticeship and honed my craft working alongside my father, restoring old French properties with care and precision.
After returning to the UK, I expanded my experience across commercial and residential construction sites, specialising in both 1st and 2nd fix carpentry. Over time, I found myself drawn to the finer details leading me to focus on finishing carpentry and bespoke fitted furniture.
A few years later, I returned to France to continue renovating heritage homes, once again following in my father’s footsteps that chapter reignited my passion for timeless craftsmanship and ultimately brought me back to the UK, where I now dedicate myself fully to designing and building high-quality fitted furniture solutions.
